Susan Smith-Peter is an Associate Professor of History at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York where she specializes in Russian history beyond the two capitals of Moscow and St. Petersburg, regional identity, and civil society. She’s the author of Imagining Russian Regions: Civil Society and Subnational Identity in Nineteenth-Century Russia published by Brill.
